. . . providing a place where students Live Their Passion...

The Living Learning Program is about more than creating a place for students to live and learn together. It’s about enhancing academic success, making faculty connections, exploring new possibilities and finding support.

Who are these communities for?

These communities affords students the opportunity to live with others in their College/major, often sharing the same classes, while participating in activities that center around their academics, careers and social interests.

University Housing and our academic partners are devoted to promoting an atmosphere where learning is integral in all facets of resident’s lives. With a community devoted to each undergraduate College at Cal Poly, there’s one that’s created for every first-year student.
  • Connect with faculty, staff and students that also share your academic and career pursuits, while exploring majors and career options
  • Take advantage of studying with students who have similar classes
  • Participate in review sessions, SAS study groups, and Writing & Rhetoric Center tutoring
  • Engage in discussions or interactive events with faculty, academic advisors, librarians, career counselors and student academic service staff within your College
Please note that the location of each Learning Community/Theme is subject to change from year-to-year based upon student interest and that a given Learning Community/ Theme may be housed within any area of University Housing, including residence halls and on-campus apartments.
