If you live on campus and you are experiencing H1N1 symptoms...

It is recommended that you implement your pre-planned departure strategy. When you leave campus, please email your faculty members and the Coordinator of Student Development for the building which you live.

If you are unable to depart campus, you are instructed to go into self isolation in your room.
Please email your faculty and inform them that you will not be attending class.
Please email the Coordinator of Student Development for the building which you live to coordinate campus resources.

If you are in self-isolation, a University Housing Staff member will deliver to your room/apartment door a "Flu Starter Kit". Included in this kit will be instructions from the University Health Center Director as well as directions on how to order a "Sick Meal Box" from Campus Dining. Also included in the "Flu Starter Kit" are a surgical mask, antibacterial wipes, forehead thermometer, Kleenex, and a garbage bag to dispose of used Kleenex.

If you are in self-isolation, please read carefully the instructions from the University Health Center Director. In order to try to prevent other people in the Residence Halls and Apartments from getting the flu, it is important that you follow the self isolation instructions.

What steps you should take if your roommate is sick with the flu

1. You should limit your contact with your sick roommate and try to maintain a distance of 6 ft. from him/her.

2. If close contact cannot be avoided, your sick roommate should wear a surgical mask, if tolerable, when
    around you or other people.

3. You should frequently clean commonly-touched surfaces.

4. You should wash your hands often with soap and water. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

5. Contact Housing staff if necessary.
