Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Funding Requests
Goal
The goal of University Housing creating a diversity, equity, inclusion funding request is to have a transparent and inclusive process in granting funding support for diversity and inclusion events that benefit residents.
The Process
The Housing DEI Funding committee will meet regularly to review application proposals, approve, and allocate funding. There is a rubric based on the criteria listed below used to assess the applications.
Application & Criteria
Thank you for your interest in applying for University Housing funds to support your campus diversity event!
To be eligible to receive funding, requests must:
- Be submitted by a university department or by a university-sponsored student, staff, or faculty organization
- Support the University Housing Strategic Plan goal of cultivating an environment of equity and well-being

Directly benefit Cal Poly housing residents
Please keep in mind that due to limited funds, we may not be able to fund all applications which meet the funding criteria. In general, though, recipients can expect to receive between $100 and $500 in funding.
Application Due Date
Your application is due at least one month prior to the event date to allow time for review.
Additional Requirements
University Housing will e-mail funding recipients our logo to be included on all marketing materials and an online form Event Summary Sheet to be returned no later than two weeks after the event.
